Backyard surprise: woman discovers a dog with an unexpected plea for help

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that dogs have a major soft spot for playing around.

Sure, they’re also fans of munching on delicious treats and lounging like couch potatoes, but nothing thrills them more than goofing around with their human companions.

The fantastic thing is that these furry pals don’t fuss about the type of games you play. Whether it’s a race in the park, a game of tag, or a classic fetch session—they’re all in! However, sometimes we humans overlook the fact that stray dogs crave playtime, too—they just need someone to join them.

That’s why one resourceful stray pup decided to find a playmate!

When Violet returned to her countryside abode, she discovered a little furry friend had paid her a visit.

With her car door open, an inquisitive little head popped in, leaving Violet to figure out its intentions. When she asked a few questions, the pup cleverly dropped a ball by her feet, signaling it’s time for some fun!

Catching on quickly, Violet grabbed the ball and gave it a hearty throw.

In a TikTok video she shared, Violet portrayed how the pup wasn’t ready to quit. The pup playfully taunted Violet by scooping up the ball just as she was about to grab it again.

Unsurprisingly, people online couldn’t get enough of it!

The response was overflowing with dog enthusiasts urging Violet to adopt the darling pup. However, after some snooping, Violet suspects the little gal might belong to her neighbors.

Violet had spotted her a few times playing in her neighbor’s yard and bonding with their daughter. However, she’s vowed to give the pup a home if it turns out not to belong there.

“I’m keeping a close watch just to be sure she’s theirs because if not…” she explained in a follow-up video.

All They Need Is Affection

Even if this sweet doggy has a family, it underscores the reality that many stray dogs are just waiting to enjoy a good playtime.

According to the ASPCA, about 6.3 million animals find themselves in American shelters each year.

While shelters strive to make these animals’ lives as joyful as possible, giving each one the care they need can be tough.

Canines are naturally sociable creatures longing for their own humans. While they surely appreciate the shelter staff and their fellow dogs, having a family would be a dream come true.

So, why not take a trip to your local animal shelter and lend a hand? If adopting isn’t an option for you, think about setting up a little playdate with them.

It would make such a difference.
