It’s quite amazing yet not widely known how many animal rescuers voluntarily roam city streets just to lend a hand to hungry stray dogs and cats. Even when shelters are bursting at the seams and can’t accept more critters, the sheer number of animals in distress calls for action.
In some places, rescuers make it their mission to ensure street animals at least get a meal and a bit of affection. When urgent situations arise, they jump into action however they can.
One such dedicated rescuer was traversing the streets of Texas and came across two incredibly sweet dogs who were in dire need of help. Naturally, she took it upon herself to assist them.
Two Adorable Dogs
When Kristin and her fellow volunteers received word about a group of unwell dogs needing rescue, they kicked into high gear to find them.
Tragically, upon reaching the area, some volunteers discovered that two dogs from the pack had already succumbed. Despite their heavy hearts, they persisted in searching for the remaining pair.
Kristin noticed the dogs hiding beneath a house and worked to gain their attention. Though initially wary, the dogs soon trusted the rescuers enough to let them approach.
After gently gaining their trust through calming pets, Kristin managed to coax the two into her car, ready to offer them the relief they deserved.
With wagging tails and happy demeanor, the dogs seemed thrilled to finally be in caring hands.
Sadly, Kristin’s area in Texas lacks dedicated animal shelters, meaning they must find independent ways to care for these animals.
Yet with a decade of dog rescue experience under her belt, Kristin was confident she’d find exceptional homes for these dogs in need.
New Beginnings for Ron and Ginny
After a soothing journey, the dogs arrived at Kristin’s home, where they were lovingly dubbed Ron and Ginny Weasley. These endearing pups received much-needed vet care and embarked on their recovery journey.
Experiencing love for the first time was an adjustment, but it wasn’t long before the dogs nestled comfortably into their new surroundings. Their affection for Kristin was evident as they began to understand how much she cared.
Kristin found joy in fostering Ron and Ginny, reveling in their gentle and joyful nature.
Once they recuperated, Kristin contacted Gals Best Pal Rescue Mission in Massachusetts, committed to securing them loving homes.
Ron was rehomed first and adjusted wonderfully to life with his new family. Ginny, however, stayed behind temporarily due to heartworm treatment.
But after four months, Ginny found her forever family in Wisconsin thanks to the efforts of Misfit Mutts Dog Rescue.
Finally, after enduring so much, Ron and Ginny now enjoy the loving homes they’ve always deserved and are blissfully happy with their new families.
@streetheartstx I finally wrapped up Ginny and Ron’s video 🥰 They were rescued from an area with hundreds of stray dogs and no animal control. Sick, starving packs of dogs just running around. It’s truly heartbreaking. In fact, not all the dogs from Ginny and Ron’s pack survived. When volunteers went to round them up they discovered it was too late for two of them, sadly they passed away 💔 Ginny and Ron were an absolute delight to foster! They were sweet, happy dogs, easy to please. Ron was the shy one but thanks to @Gals Best Pal Rescue Mission ♬ You’re Still The One – Eddie Tom
