This dog was saved from euthanasia when a generous girl chose to foster her

Having once cherished the companionship of a dog, losing my furry friend brought an overwhelming sadness. If you’ve ever had a dog, you probably understand this feeling.

While it may feel like the pain lingers endlessly, with time, the heartache eases. Some folks mend their hearts but decide not to welcome another dog into their lives.

Meanwhile, others choose to open their homes to more dogs, providing them with a new lease on life. Our methods may differ, but our affection for our beloved canines is universal.

Whitney found herself in a similar situation not long ago. After losing her pup, she felt it was the right moment to extend her care to another dog in need.

When Whitney resolved to foster again, she browsed through the euthanasia list to find a dog most in need of her help.

And that’s how she stumbled across Glinda. This little one was so charming and brought back memories of Luna, her previous pup. Right then and there, Whitney knew Glinda would be coming home with her.

At the shelter in Texas, Glinda met Whitney for the first time, appearing somewhat hesitant but quickly warming up as Whitney approached.

They bonded instantly, like old friends reconnecting, and Glinda’s nervousness transformed into a display of joy and enthusiasm.

Whitney noticed Glinda wasn’t in perfect health, and it seemed she might require medical attention before becoming her foster pup.

Glinda battled numerous health issues, likely due to overbreeding, but at least now she had a caring person to stand by her through thick and thin.

Once Glinda’s health concerns were addressed, Whitney welcomed her into her new foster home in Texas.

Glinda was beside herself with excitement, eager to explore every nook and cranny of her fresh surroundings.

Whitney ensured Glinda felt cozy and safe, focusing on her recuperation to help her enjoy life to its fullest until the right family could adopt her.

Glinda seemed overjoyed to receive the affection and attention every dog deserves. That’s precisely what Whitney envisioned for her.

Time flew, and Glinda was soon on her way to a remarkable recovery, ready to embark on the next chapter. Placed on an adoption list, she eagerly awaits her forever family.

Although it’s uncertain if Glinda has found her perfect match yet, what matters is that she’s now surrounded by rescuers who provide her with all the love and safety she needs.

I met a dog this weekend on the euthanasia list that reminded me of my heart dog, Luna. Luna was the reason why I started doing rescue over a dozen years ago. Meet Glinda, a mama dog who found herself on the euthanasia list due to lack of space as well as clear medical issues in her mammary area, likely due to overbreeding. She is a medium-sized, gray-muzzled, shy, black with brown speckles kind of dog. Well, I knew immediately that she was coming to my house. She got the surgery she needed to remove multiple masses, and is now safe at home with me recovering. She tinkles when she sees me so I know we are going to have a good time here! I can’t wait to share her journey with you guys. This one is for you, Luna ❤️ Follow @whitneysdogs for more foster glow-ups! #dogrescue #shelterovercapacity #helpingshelterdogs #fosteringsaveslives #heartsandbonesrescue
