Starting life is tough even under the best circumstances, and it’s particularly challenging for orphaned puppies who feel this more intensely.
Today’s story revolves around a puppy who faced a harsh beginning, finding himself alone on a sidewalk just moments after birth, vulnerable to the world around him.
Despite the bleakness of his situation, fate intervened by bringing compassionate people into his life, completely changing his course.
From Struggle to Triumph
This story’s hero, a tiny orphaned puppy named Joy, was discovered on the sidewalk by dedicated volunteers from Howl Of A Dog, an organization with a mission to rescue animals.
Upon his arrival at their shelter, Joy was only about 160 grams, marking his very first day in this world.
Raising newborn pups like him isn’t a walk in the park. These little ones are incredibly delicate, often blind, deaf, without teeth, and unable to regulate their temperature.
During his initial week, Joy mostly slept and nibbled on food, transitioning slowly into this strange new life.
It wasn’t until week two that Joy’s unique, bubbly personality began to shine brightly, full of energy and playfulness.
He grew particularly attached to his favorite toy, a white Siberian tiger, forming a bond he wouldn’t relinquish.
From Pup to Young Dog
Joy’s world expanded with his beloved toy at his side, as he explored all the joys surrounding him. Eager and lively, he voraciously absorbed everything his eyes could see.
He became quite the social butterfly at the shelter, mingling effortlessly with other dogs. His infectious energy and affable nature made him endearing to even the more senior and larger dogs.
And among these new acquaintances, Theia stood out as his best doggie friend, sharing countless joyful moments in the yard.
Volunteers beamed with pride watching Joy grow into an admirable, big-hearted dog, especially those involved in his rescue.
Still, one thing remained—the fairy-tale ending every dog hopes for.
An Ending Befitting His Heart
After Joy spent over four months in the shelter, the awaited moment arrived. News of his pending adoption lit up their Facebook Page.
Just a couple of weeks shy of Christmas, a loving family was moved by Joy’s tale and was eager to bring Joy into their lives immediately.
Eager to meet him, Ellen and Ricardo didn’t waste time. The very next day, they made the trip, regardless of the distance, to welcome him home.
They had followed his early struggles closely and felt compelled to offer him a happy future.
In his new home, the first photo captured was of genuine happiness—Joy’s joy.
Of course, Joy’s trusty Siberian tiger toy was right there in the background, a reminder of the playful spirit that thrived despite a rocky start.
